it's all about the bedding

It's official, we finally have a date to get the keys to our new house, and it's only 9 days away.  I feel like I've been waiting for this day my whole life, admittedly it's only been three months, but it has been the longest three months...and now I can actually start counting down the days, I may even start counting down the hours soon enough.

So as I'm sure you can imagine, my head is filled with ideas about sofas, bedrooms and carpets, and my dreams are filled with curtains, kitchens and crockery! This weekend it's all about paint, we've decided to paint three of the rooms in our house, the dining room, the living room and the bedroom, and I can't wait to eventually get going.

But in the meantime, one thing I can start thinking about is bedding, we want the bedroom to be a haven of tranquility (I made that up, I want it to be pretty, the boy wants it to be cosy), and I think we've even agreed to for-go a television in the bedroom, big move I know!  Bedding is one of the few things I can actually buy now without having to wait that it'll definitely match our furniture, or the walls, or anything else, we're keeping the bedroom fairly simple, and so I don't need to worry too much about colours clashing.

I've spent the last week hunting high and low, as much as I'd love a Cath Kidston-esque floral empire, I know the boy won't, and I'm struggling to find something neutral and not too boring, not an easy-task!!  So whilst hunting high and low, I stumbled across French Connection's Homeware range, I'd forgotten French Connection had a homeware range, but then remembered a beloved fuschia pink duvet cover that saw me through my student days and is still going strong now (although that was a cheeky TK Maxx purchase many moons ago!).

Their ranges now are simple, but classic, natural colours such as creams, greys and whites, but not boring, exactly what I've been looking for! At the moment their bedding range is limited. but I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're planning on expanding it soon.  The Tied Edges Duvet Cover will certainly appeal to the boys lack of interest in colour, and the tied edges are enough to convince me it's not boring, and they've got pillowcases to match too!

Now I'm off to try and convince the boy that we really need these leaning shelves, and French Connection, if you could just keep me updated on your new bedding ranges that would be much appreciated!

it's all change...

If you are a regular blog reader, I'm sure you will have heard by now that Google Reader is to be no more, meaning you can't read and follow blogs anymore through Google Friend Connect.  I, of course, had heard this news but did nothing about it, I say did nothing about it, I didn't understand it, so thought I'd ignore it for a while, then started to wonder why I was suddenly having an increase in Bloglovin all makes sense now!!  Anyway, I was sticking by guns, assuming it would sort itself out...

Hrmm, it's not looking like that's going to happen, and while reading the lovely Sallytangle's latest post, I thought I should follow suit, and direct you all over to Bloglovin where you can all go and follow me HERE.

I would very much appreciate it if all of you lovely lot did, and if you do, you may just get to see more comedy shots of me, like this one, because that's just how I roll!

it's a nice day for a white wedding

A couple of weeks ago I was at a friend's wedding and although I hadn't planned to do a blog post (hence the lack of decent 'outfit' photos), I decided that as this is my new favourite dress, I had to show it off to you lovely lot too.

Dress - Oasis
Necklace - H&M
Bag - Aldo

As I'd decided to treat myself to a new dress, (of course none of the 63 I already have were suitable), I figured I couldn't justify new shoes and handbag too! So yes, these shoes have cropped up once or twice on this blog before but I couldn't actually rave about them anymore.  I had these on for almost 12 hours at this wedding...yes my feet were crippled by the end of the night, but I've usually given up by about 8 hours in.

And I need to thank the good people at Oasis for designing and creating this dress, I have never had so many compliments on one item of clothing!

And just for fun, here's mine and the boy's party trick!

worldwide wardrobe competition - travel supermarket - paris!

So I couldn't resist a second entry in the Travel Supermarket competition, and if you're interested you can find my first Thailand entry here.  This time I've put together my Sightseeing in Paris look!

1. Topshop Chunky Cateye Sunglasses - £16
2. Zara Mini Bowling Bags with Zips - £39.99
3. ASOS Midi Skirt in Ponte - £30
4. River Island Stripe Cropped Top - £14
5. Dune Cut Out Peep Toe Court Shoe - £69

TOTAL - £152.99

I'm channeling my inner Carrie Bradshaw with this outfit, we all know the Parisians go for style over comfort, and just because I'm spending the day sightseeing, does not mean I'm going to go for flats...I want to look like a local!

I started my outfit with the shoes, I absolutely love these court shoes from Dune, and yes at £69 they're not cheap but these shoes scream chic...and that's exactly what I'm going for.

Next up was the top, yes it's completely cliche to go for stripes in France, but when done in style, why not! A bright, bold skirt and a big bag that will hold your essentials and the look is almost complete...

A fabulous pair of cats eye sunglasses, and I'll see you at the Louvre!
